It's HAPPENING! Dulcimers Downunder, August 21-29, 2010

Today I am TOTALLY excited about announcing the first Australian Dulcimer Gathering!

I just posted the following on the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer forum and on EverythingDulcimer:

Adrian Kosky and I are happy to make this announcement!

We've organized an event called, "Dulcimers Downunder," to be held August 21 - 29, 2010, which includes accommodation, activities, airport shuttles, and all meals for eight nights at Tasma House Music and Arts Retreat in Daylesford, Victoria, Australia.

Highlights of your stay in Australia from August 21st - 29th, 2010:

We will pick you and your group up at the Melbourne airport.
From there, you will be taken to your home at Tasma House Music
and Arts Retreat for the next 8 nights.

The first day will be a gentle entry into Aussie life, with time to relax
and pamper yourself, be introduced to your dulcimer (if you are loaning
one) and recover from being upside down.

Participate in 8 days of extremely relaxed workshops/international
cultural exchanges.

Meet and jam with Daylesford's local musicians.

Enjoy guided sightseeing in Central Victoria's historic towns.

Attend house concerts, participate in intimate open mic night/ song circles
and campfires at Tasma House.

Perform [if you like] in an Australian pub.

We will be visiting a local wildlife reserve to pat a koala, photograph
an echidna, get up close and personal with a wombat, and discuss life with
kangaroos.

On Friday 27th August, the first Daylesford Dulcimer Gathering will take place
at Tasma House Music and Arts Retreat. You will have VIP status as our
international guests, which in Oz means, "we'll look after ya, mate."

Players from Australia and beyond, will be coming together for fun and friendship,
cultural exchange and to share our instrument. A chance to mix with real Aussies who are also smitten!

We will escort you back to Melbourne Airport on Sunday the 29th of August, full of stories, adventures, and the call of home beckoning you back.....
