Since 1992 I have been working on a concept of linking students with teachers in appropriate and emotionally energizing environments. I call this concept, "TeacherLink."
I first used the TeacherLink concept to support and build Advanced Driving Schools, my family owned driving school in Memphis, Tennessee. Advanced Driving Schools was a privately owned driving school that connected the best driving instructors with eager learners in a dedicated driving school facility. At its peak, Advanced Driving Schools, taught 100 teenagers per week during the summer 10-week session. I am no longer affiliated with Advanced Driving Schools, but I am happy that it continues to be successful as the Maxwell Driving School.
Because of my own interest in music and mountain dulcimers, in 2002 I helped establish the Memphis Area Mountain Dulcimer Club and The Memphis Dulcimer Gathering with Larry Conger. A few years later, I co-founded the Memphis Dulcimer Gathering & Folk Festival, and the Memphis Dulcimer Gathering, Inc., a non-profit corporation. In 2008, with permission from club members, I created the following video as a "commercial" for the Memphis Area Mountain Dulcimer Club, because I wanted to share our method of learning in the relaxed environment of my home.
When I am in Australia, I work on combining the TeacherLink concept with the beautiful, comforting, environment of Tasma House and Gardens. I believe that Tasma House, my husband Adrian Kosky, and I are a good combo for folks who want to give learning a go.....at a comfortable pace in a beautiful place.
My TeacherLink website is always "under construction," as I explore more links between people and their interests and as I continue with a new part of my life actively living in two places: Now in Clarksdale, Mississippi, U.S.A., and down under in Daylesford, Victoria, Australia.
